We are happy to share with you some of our travel notes and photos. We love to travel by cruise ship as well as by settling into a wonderful location. We have traveled to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Caribbean, South America and French Polynesia. Hope you find something to interest you!
2025: A cruise through the Panama Canal
We cruised from Panama City to Miami with side trips to Colombia and the ABC islands.
2020: A cruise to Australia and New Zealand
We enjoyed beautiful scenery and a culture that shares much with Canada but has its own accent and indigenous history. We enjoyed three days in Sydney, two in Melbourne and ended with a couple of days in Auckland.
2019: A trip to Newfoundland
A car trip from St. John's through Gros Morne to L’Anse aux Meadows where the Vikings lived and back to the capital.
2019: A trip to Portugal
A combination of a walking holiday near Evora (Alentejo regional) then a train and bus holiday. Five nights in Porto, then Coimbra, Leiria, and Lisbon. A delight was Merida, Spain and the Roman antiquities.
2018: A trip to Ireland and a cruise to Norway
Five nights in Galway and four nights in Dublin. The cruise visits included the Isle of Man, Kirkwall (the Orkneys), several Norwegian ports including Bergen and then Geraingerfjord! Three northern Russian ports brought us to unfamiliar places on the Barents Sea and the White Sea, ending with a couple of days in Oslo.
2016: An Adriatic cruise followed by a stay in Rome
Our journey started with four days in Venice, then a cruise around the Adriatic for 10 days on Oceania Nautica, ending with sixteen days in Rome in Trastevere.
2015: A cruise from Barcelona to Singapore via the Suez Canal
Seven weeks on a cruise from Barcelona to Singapore, visiting Italy, Cyprus, Oman, UAE, Israel, Myanmar, India, and special places like Petra, Jerusalem, Dubai, Bagan (in Myanmar), Mumbai, and Singapore. We added in four nights in Amsterdam.
Travel prior to 2015
Peru, South America and French Polynesia, Baltic, France (Paris, Luberon, Brittany, Dordogne, Alsace), other European areas (Berlin, Germany, Spain, Malta, Italy), Asia, and Caribbean cruise.
